How I Work

What should you expect during therapy?  Hopefully it will be a good experience. It will be a safe place for you to talk about your presenting problems. If you are not sure what they are, we will work together to identify them through exploration of the past and present.

Listening, connecting and understanding is part of what I do as a therapist. Together we will identify the different areas of difficulty and then I can help you move in the direction you need to go.

Try this:

  • Think about biting into a lemon. Just think about it. What is your reaction?
  • Physical reaction-glands squirting in your cheeks?
  • Emotional reaction-Ewww sour!
  • Your thought evoked a reaction. So what you think about affects how you feel.

We will explore your thinking, beliefs and feelings that may be getting in your way of working through your issue.  An important goal is for the course of therapy to go in the direction that is best for you.
